This week has been full of amazing moments! If this weekend could be described in any way, this would be the perfect sentence:
“Look at a day when you are supremely satisfied at the end. It’s not a day where you lounge around doing nothing; it’s when you’ve had everything to do and you’ve done it.”Margaret Thatcher
We signed Kiki up for swimming lessons. Well, not real swimming, but water survival. They are once a week 30 minute lessons of floating, leg kicking, arm motions through the water, jumping in the water and all of this is done through nursery rhymes. Kiki learns how to handle the water and I learn the nursery rhymes;)
It’s safe to say she loved it. She wasn’t quite sure about it at first, but absolutely no tears, and after a few minutes in water, she started laughing and enjoying it. I can’t wait for next Sunday to take her back to the pool. Learning new things and discovering the world through her eyes has been amazing. Seeing her becoming a little person with so much personality, so happy, so determined – ah, I am beaming with mother’s pride.
We took advantage of beautiful weather and went for long walks around the lake…..I think walking and not running might be in my future. I have lost my running mojo, just like Peter Pan lost his shadow:) But walking feels good, and Kiki loves it….
There is a gorgeous lake only 10 minutes away from our house. It’s a beautiful 3 mile loop, with plenty of shade and beautiful sunshine. It’s my favorite path.
On Sunday, I snuck out of the house for a few hours and got a manicure/pedicure and did some shopping. Actually I did a lot of shopping considering I was practicing the Frugal February. But now I am back on Minimalist March.
I spent a lot of time in my favorite store…
and from all those Crayola colors, I walked away with this beauty and black pair of pants! I can’t wait to wear this ring. It might become a permanent fixture on my hand.
Like I said, I did a lot of shopping, and the most important accomplishment of my shopping extravaganza was finding the bathing suit:) Hip! Hip! Hooray!
Sunday morning was spent leisurely enjoying our coffee and Kiki got a new nickname “A Venti baby with extra shot of sweetness”
Can’t you tell she loves taking pictures!?! It’s so funny as soon as I take my iPhone and turn on the photo, she starts smiling and making funny faces. And even more, she loves looking of pictures of herself!
The chef made a delicious meal on Sunday night – orzo with peas, parmesan and shrimp. Are you drooling yet? So comforting so delicious.
Q: How was your weekend? Did you do anything fun?weekend
