Oh weekend, where have you gone? Like all weekends, this weekend flew by, but I enjoyed every minute of it, especially once the little lady was with me.
We took silly photos, we had dance parties, we sang Cups 15,000 over and over, we cooked, we ate, we played, we colored, we napped – we created memories!
In the process of documenting our memories, Kiki “discovered” photo booth! Once I showed her how to take pictures with it, we took about million photos and she didn’t want to stop! I loved hearing her say “Momma fun! Momma fun!”
I put together my summer reading…of course I am reading more then one book at a time, Just not sure which one to pick up first. I recently finished Apron Anxiety, and absolutely loved it. Alyssa’s writing is so witty and poignant. If you are looking for an easy summer read about food and dating a famous chef, this is your book. It was like reading Sex & the City about food, instead of shoes!
The “IT” song of the weekend was “Cups” from Pitch Perfect – absolutely perfect. The little lady and I danced our hearts out – as soon as I would play the song she would start clapping her hands and running in circle! All I know is that I want to learn how to play with cups like that – wouldn’t that be cool!
The song that made me cry this weekend and for some reason played on every station I turned on…what is it about this song that makes me cry?!?!
And when we were done dancing and singing, we created magic in the kitchen. My friend Noemi gave me this fantastic recipe for barely + lentils + sautéed onions/carrots and chicken sausage. The little lady and I devoured it! A little spicy, a little nutty, a little crunchy – great flavor all together.
Told you – she loved it!
The best part of the weekend was finding out that the Sous-Chef received a clean bill of health – 2 years in complete remission! What a relief!
