Table 8, again

There is some magnetic power that has taken me back to TABLE 8 – don’t ask why, but it just seemed as the most appropriate choice for last night’s outing. Remember the promise I made (unless I had to, I wouldn’t be going back), well I didn’t have to, but I still chose it and it was a great choice last night.I met up with my old boss Amy from D.C. last night and her friend Michelle (and they were both amazing and lifted my spirits for sure)and they are staying at Loews Hotel and did not want to do the typical Lincoln Road, but wanted South Beach chi-chi atmosphere, so the first thing that came to my mind was TABLE 8. I wasn’t sure what I was getting myself into, but I did hear that they have a new chef of cuisine and the new manager, so I said why not. We got there, and everything was going perfect – perfect weather, company, conversation, wine, salads, entrees and desert and on top of everything, I found out that the new manager is Slovenian (from my original “neck of the woods” – Thank you Gregor for a delicious dessert) – how can it not be more perfect….My choices of the night:Salad: the most delicious burrata – heirloom tomatoes, wild arugula, olive oil fried croutons, aged balsamicEntree: Skirt Steak with red pepper relish and strips of french fries (14 oz steak- this is a lot of steak for one person, but I shared)Dessert: Creme Broule Wine: Forgot the name, but it was a MALBEC (the only one sold by glass)So TABLE 8, you have certainly redeemed yourself with both food and service(our server was Michael, looked very much like Govind, and he was very knowledgeable about food and wines – I was very impressed. You could tell it wasn’t just memorizing today’s menu, but he knew his stuff – kudos to you.) and if it wasn’t for that darn resort fee, I would come back more often, but I still can’t deal with double taxation…and one last thing, the portions are still TOO BIG… but delicious. You won me over TABLE 8. ūüôā
